Gazi Husrev-begova Mosque
Gazi Husrev-Beg’s mosque or more commonly known as the Beg’s Mosque was built in 1530. The designer of the mosque was Adžem Esir Ali, the chief architect of the Ottoman Empire at that time. The mosque was built as a gift or “Vakuf” on behalf of Gazi Husrev-Bega who ruled Bosnia from 1521. To 1541. These mosques are nowadays considered to be the architectural monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and each year they attracts a large number of both believers and other tourists.
